Kiruna, Swedish LaplandJVT (Jukkasjärvi Vildmarksturer) has been running wilderness experiences from Kiruna, in Swedish Lapland, since 2000. Their overnight and weekend survival courses sit in the middle of the syllabus, above the introduction and below the week-long course.
The two-night format lets you carry the fundamentals through a full night in the northern wilderness, rather than sampling them in daylight and heading home. Kiruna is inside the Arctic Circle; the temperature and the light do most of the teaching.
